Kalebe Henrique
Born on September 23, 2008, in Manaus, Amazonas, Kalebe began his Jiu-Jitsu journey at the age of three, inspired by his father, a black belt and coach. He started training at his father's academy just for fun, like any kid looking to move and play. But by the time he was six, after winning his first competition at the Copa Meia Guarda in Manaus, something shiftedâhe fell in love with competing. Victory lit a fire in him, and from that moment on, Jiu-Jitsu became his life.
At ten years old, Kalebe and his father made a pivotal decision: to join the Melqui GalvĂŁo team in Manaus. With the guidance of Master Melqui and the support of a strong team, Kalebe chose to fully dedicate himself to becoming a professional athlete. He began training full time and moved into the athlete housing provided by the academy. Since then, heâs been living the lifestyle of a high-level competitorâfocused, driven, and constantly evolving.
wo years ago, Kalebe moved to JundiaĂ, SĂŁo Paulo, to train at the new Melqui GalvĂŁo school, far from his home and family. The move pushed him to mature quickly and taught him valuable lessons about independence, commitment, and personal growth. Despite the challenges, his time there has resulted in major accomplishments and steady progress toward his ultimate goal: to become a black belt world champion.
Kalebe's breakout moment came at the ADCC Trials in Belo Horizonte in 2024. At just 15 years old, he advanced to the semifinals, facing and defeating top-level black beltsâsome of the biggest names in the sport. That performance marked a turning point in his career, earning him recognition and opening up new opportunities. More importantly, it proved that his years of sacrifice and hard work were starting to pay off.

Known for his aggressive, forward-pressure style, Kalebeâs favorite techniques are wrestling-based takedowns like the double leg and single leg. He believes takedowns bring excitement to a match and reflect the true essence of Jiu-Jitsuâalways fighting for the finish.
Outside the mats, Kalebe enjoys relaxing with his teammates, watching movies and documentaries, playing video games, and studying languages. Since being away from his family, his time off the mats has become a moment to recharge and grow. He's currently learning English and Spanishâtools he knows will be crucial to his future in the sport.
To Kalebe, a championâs mindset is built through consistency and resilience. As taught by his mentor Melqui GalvĂŁo, being a champion is not just about collecting medalsâitâs about showing up every day, staying humble, working hard, treating others with empathy, and giving your best no matter the circumstances.
